Etiopathogenesis, diagnostics and treatment of pediatric sepsis:  a literature analysis

Abstract

Many infectious diseases, such as pneumonia, meningitis and gastrointestinal diseases, can be complicated by sepsis. Sepsis is the main reason of clindren mortality in health care centers. Due to that early diagnostic and treatment are essential in pediatric patiens with sepsis. In the first golden hour fluid therapy and antibiotics must be prescribed in order to achieve good outcomes. Aim: To select and analyse expert recommendations for diagnostics and treatment of children sepsis. Method: the review of literature was conducted using the ,,PubMed‘‘ and ,,UpToDate‘‘, selecting publications investigating main causes, diagnostics and treatment recommendations for children sepsis. Conclusions:  After analysis of the literature, main causes, diagnostics and treatment recommendations of children sepsis are presented, which will help doctors of different fields to choose the most appropriate treatment method.
