Syncope: definition, risk stratification, main principles of diagnosis and treatment

ABSTRACT

Syncope is one of the most common reasons for emergency department and urgent care clinic visits. Recognizing its clinical characteristics and identifying etiology is necessary for accurate diagnosis and successful treatment. This article reviews crucial principles of syncope’s diagnosis and treatment according to the latest 2018 European Society of Cardiology recommendations.
