ABSTRACT

Immediate hypersensitivity to inhaled allergens is wide spread in children and teenagers with asthma and allergic rhinitis. Sensitization to one or few indoor allergens (dust mites, pets, rodents or cockroaches) and a prevalence of high amount of those allergens in daily indoor environment is the main reason for acute asthma attacks and manifestation of allergic rhinitis’ episodes. So, one of the most important goals while treating those kinds of patients is to help them understand the necessity of avoiding allergens they are sensitised and explain the methods they can use to achieve the best results. That’s why every doctor, who faces these conditions must be able to explain which allergen each patient can encounter in his/her daily environment and what are the best methods to avoid them.
